Karns formerly known as Beaver Ridge is an unincorporated community in northwest Knox County, Tennessee, United States, about 11 miles northwest of the center of Knoxville. The United States Geographic Names System classifies Karns as a populated place. Wikipedia
Beaver Ridge officially became Karns in the 1950’s.
Karns was most known as a farming area and has grown over the years to a large community of over 19,000 residents. There are subdivisions, schools, business mixed with farms and large pastures. The school system is part of the Knox County Schools.
Most residents commute outside of Karns to work in Knoxville, Oakridge and Farragut.
